However, if you have a disability we are here to help you. Please call our disability services phone line at (402) 423-2800 during regular business hours and one of our kind and friendly personal shoppers will help you navigate through our website, help conduct advanced searches, help you choose the item you are looking for with the specifications you are seeking, read you the specifications of any item and consult with you about the products themselves. There is no charge for the help of this personal shopper for anyone with a disability. Finally, your personal shopper will explain our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service, and help you place an order if you so desire.

  • Come in today and let us help you find your best rest ever! It’s time to buy a new mattress if:
  • You wake up with aches and pains that dissipate throughout the day
  • Your mattress shows wear and tear
  • You feel the coils when lying on your bed
  • You hear noises/creaks on your mattress when moving around
  • You roll toward the middle of the bed
  • Materials and construction of your new mattress or sleep system can vary greatly depending on the manufacturer.

From foam developed in conjunction with the space program, to the latest fibers and support systems, there are many choices to make when selecting the perfect mattress.

MATTRESSES

Bedding sets are available in a variety of sized because people come in a variety of sizes and have different sleeping requirements. Making sure you have the right bed for you is vital. Most of us would never attempt to wear a pair of shoes that were two or three sizes too small, but those same people might sleep eight or more hours every night in bed that just doesn’t fit.

For many years the standard bedding size for two adults was the "double" – also known as the "full" size. This is truly old fashioned sleeping. In fact, two average sized adults in a full size bed only have about 27″ of sleeping width. That’s the same amount of space they probably had in their cribs as infants. Furthermore, the 75″length is too short for anyone taller than 5’6″. A good rule of thumb is to allow about 9″ for pillow space.

COMFORT LAYERS

The feeling you get when you first lie down on a mattress comes from the foams and fibers used in the upholstery layers above the core support system (whether innerspring or all-foam). Serta uses a variety of advanced comfort foams and fibers, all designed to provide enhanced cushioning for a more comfortable sleep. Comfort choices vary by mattress collection, but many Serta mattresses offer a variety of comfort choices for choosing your ideal sleeping surface.

SUPPORT LAYER

The support layer of a Serta mattress consists of either a traditional steel coil innerspring, or an all-foam support core. All of Serta’s support systems are designed to provide proper back support while you sleep. When it comes to an innerspring support system, the number of coils in a mattress varies from manufacturer to manufacturer and is based on a queen-size mattress (i.e. twin mattress have fewer coils, kings have more); but the coil count is not necessarily as important as the construction.

  • MATTRESS SHOPPING TIPS
  • Do your research. Talk to friends and family about their mattress shopping experiences. Get recommendations from trusted sources, such as Serta’s Ratings & Reviews where real owners share their feedback.
  • Make a list about your current mattress. What do you like about it? What don’t you like? Why are you now shopping for a new one?
  • Talk to your partner and be sure to understand what he/she wants from a new mattress.
  • Shop at a retailer you trust. Know your retailer’s return, exchange and warranty policy before you buy so there are no surprises.
  • Shop for a name brand you trust, like Serta.
  • Try out several types of mattresses with your partner, and be sure to wear comfortable clothes. There is no substitute for laying down on a mattress to know whether or not it’s comfortable for you and your partner.
  • Put price in perspective. You will spend 1/3 of your life in bed, so you should look at a new mattress as an investment in yourself. Remember that a new mattress will last several years.
  • Take care of your new investment. Your new mattress should last you several years, which means you need to care for it. Make sure you are using proper support and a mattress protector.
  • Make sure your fitted sheets really fit. Deep-pocket sheets are carried by most major linen retailers and are designed for extra thick and pillow top beds. Explore our selection of sheets, designed to be comfortable during all seasons.
  • While you won’t go to jail for doing so, do not tear off the law tag at the end of your mattress. It has important manufacturing information about your mattress that you will need in the event of a warranty claim. Learn more about Serta’s Product Warranty and Registration.
  • Most of us would never attempt to wear shoes that were two sizes too small, but we often spend 8 or more hours a day in a bed that isn’t right for us to achieve optimal health. Passing your worn out mattress to your kids is not acting in their best interest. In fact, you are sacrificing their health.
